These two have quilting!
I love the applique block used in this design.

The first is my favourite, but I like both of them.

The first is my favourite, but I like both of them.
read moreMy fabric choices in this project file started with the busy pansy print. Then I added some not quite plain fabrics in colours featured in the pansies, and then chose a neutral background.
The second design is a bit busy for me, though perhaps it might look OK on a queen size bed.
The quilting as shown would be in a contrast colour to the background, but what is not shown is a filler in thread to match the background. Stippling would be my first choice, but small circles, or a simple grid would work too.
read moreThe petal designs were inspired by String of Beads when I started playing with the shapes of the beads.
Love the design above.
Love the second design too!
read moreLots of room for background fillers, though the quilted border shown would be in a thread to match the applique colour.
Minimal applique, but with the added quilting I think it would have maximum effect.
read moreThis project file is now 1 day old, though many of the blocks were waiting for some attention.
About half of the blocks in the sampler above are new variations on the theme.
Love the design above, but will continue playing with the project from time to time as there are still blocks which haven’t found a place in a quilt design yet … not even a sampler.
read moreAll I have done to create this series of quilts was to change some simple leaf shapes to holly shapes, and added Christmas colours. Every quilt design with a leaf could be changed the same way! Maybe the change could go the other way … change holly leaves to simple leaf shapes.
Love the second design!
read moreIt was the local pageant last night, and the Christmas spirit was present and correct, and it was great to see toddlers, preschoolers and school children running, jumping and dancing on the street following the parade and a visit from father Christmas.
It is starting to feel like Christmas!
read moreLove both of today’s designs … new block designs based on old fashioned blocks, with custom quilting motifs based on those same blocks.
I think i prefer the first design, but it is a close call!
read moreLovely!
The first one is lovely, the second one is absolutely beautiful, in my never humble opinion.
read moreI like the design, but it would appeal much more if it was real fabric … the black background looks lifeless. Even a plain black looks better in real life.
Love the second design … and though it is designed with very little applique and lots of quilting, the quilting designs are ready to applique as well.

Love it!
I would like to say that I love this one too, but I hate to repeat myself too often!
read moreOn my list of future projects I have a wholecloth quilt … could this be the one?
Probably not, but the Lovin’ Spoonful project file could be where I will be looking.
Love the one above, both the applique and quilting is very much to my taste … though there are some quilting lines I should have added.
The last one would probably work just as it is!
read moreInteresting.
I like to leave space around applique blocks. This design has just eight applique blocks which leaves room for quilting to be showcased. I would perhaps use a more subdued thread colour in a real quilt, and the blank spaces in each block I would fill with a filler such as cross hatching.
My favourite is the last one.
